Monthly Donors

As a private, nonprofit organization, Almost Home Cat Rescue MKE receives no federal or state funding. Our animals rely solely on the generous support of members of our community.

Giving the gift of a monthly donation is easy. Once you sign up, your gift is automatically withdrawn each month on the same day. Your donation is quick and secure. Just set it and forget it.  It allows a "smaller" gift to become a larger one over time, literally saving lives all year long. You have the option to increase, decrease, or cancel your tax-deductible donation at any time without obligation

Any gift amount makes a difference! Whether you are able to contribute $5, $20, or $200 a month, every bit adds up to a truly meaningful gift we will use for spay/neuter surgery & after care; food and care for our cats (both at our rescue and in foster care) until they are ready to be adopted,  and ultimately the resources to save the lives of more cats and kittens.

  • Audrey

Audrey was attacked by a dog and had to have her left eye removed.

She came to us for help, which cost thousands in surgical and post-op care. We gave her that and lots of TLC so that she could heal.

She healed up perfectly and found her forever home!

    Adoption Date: 1-29-2023

    Total Cost $ 1589.00

  • Athena

Athena fought a tough battle as a kitten slated for euthanasia at a local shelter but we knew she was a fighter. Her mother attacked her and she had to have her tail amputated. She also had extensive posterior nerve damage which made her incontinent, but this is no death sentence!

We got her the care she needed and we even made sure she had custom diapers made so she could live a happy active life she deserved

    Adoption Date 04-30-2023

    Total Cost $ 879.00

  • Brock

Brock came to us from a shelter where he had a first level test show positive for FeLV. The shelter didn’t’ want to pay for the second level testing, and he was forced into isolation.

We took Brock in and we invested hundreds of dollars to get him the next phase of testing His results were negative. He did find his forever home.

    Adoption Date 7-25-2023

    Total Cost $175.00

  • Chesney

Chesney had a severe parasite infection, which caused him to become very sick. Small kittens do not have a fully developed immune system, so he had to be hospitalized to receive 24/7 care and support to get better.

    Adoption Date 09-13-2023

    Total Cost $ 2828.00

  • Bruno

Bruno was a stray who was limping on his left front leg. Radiographs of the left front leg showed a poorly healed fracture of the elbow. There was also a large amount of calcification and arthritis surrounding it. We tried everything to try to give him the best possible quality of life but it was ultimately determined that amputation would be the best route for his health.

He had his left front leg removed and and was given lots of love and TLC from his foster mom. Bruno ended up finding his forever home!

    Adoption Date 12-8-2023

    Total Cost $ 2454.00

  • Kenji

Kenji (and his brother Nubit) came to us by way of the Texas Cat Coalition. He was at our rescue but then volunteers noticed that he became less active and more distant as well as gained some weight in his midsection.

We took him to the vet to get him evaluated so make sure that he was okay and he was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIPV) is a serious disease caused by the mutation of a feline coronavirus.

We were able to get him the experimental drug called simply GS-441524 to treat FIP.

He has completed his treatment and is awaiting for his forever home!

Total Cost $ 3617.00 (will be end total as long as he continues to do well)

  • Ronnie

Ronnie came to us when a good Samaritan brought him to the rescue during one of our open houses. He looked very sick so we jumped into action to make sure he got the care he needed.
